The Tails on Trails 5K is Pullman’s first ever animal friendly 5K. We envisioned creating an event that promoted a local organization (the humane society) while also invoking community involvement. When individuals register for the event they will know their entry fee will be donated directly to the humane society. Additionally runners have the option to seek out sponsors who can donate an amount of their choosing for each Kilometer ran. An additional fee will be required for any animal participating in the event. The course of the 5K will weave through popular Pullman locations and will end at Reaney park where participants will be able to mingle, meet dogs and meet various pets up for adoption from the Humane Society itself. Our goal is to increase awareness of the Humane Society and their lack of funding in a way that the community can get excited about and will want to participate in year after year.
